What's that?
Improvisational theatre is an experience where the participants themselves start to improvise. They do so in teams and practise the principles of improvisation. In combination with interesting themes, such as cooperation, not being prepared, daring to fail, not blocking but saying 'yes', and taking initiatives. This event starts with an workshop led by experienced trainers. After that you will practise with different performing-arts techniques and then teams will challenge each other for the best improvisation scene. A strict but fair jury will deal with the assessment. There will be no correspondence on the result!
In an open competitive atmosphere, both parties present challenges to each other, whereby a jury determines which party is the winner on the basis of criteria, such as co-operation, originality, flexibility, speed of working, etc. The day has a low threshold set-up, but with an intensive working method and at a high tempo - the guiding principle is ‘Let's have a go at it, let's see where it will lead us'. This provides a lot of room for laughter and a lot of room for a completely different view of your colleagues.
When do you use it?
When a team wants to get to know each other better of when they look for teambuilding with a difference. People will work together in a relaxed and adventurous setting, in a field that is relatively unfamiliar to everyone, but where the themes are recognisable for all.
What are the gains?
“Great, for once it was not about work, but about our imagination” or “I had no idea my colleague had it in him, I only see him behind his computer screen”. The intense contact, the pleasure of acting together, taking on another role, has a true binding effect on a team. It also gives the employees the opportunity to explore improvisation and that inspires more confidence in their own abilities.
