Foreign Affairs Case
In November 2005, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs introduced an appraisal system with an emphasis on the working relationship between the employee and the manager. Personal development formed an explicit part. The Ministry set about informing its employees in different ways. As employees posted abroad were unable to attend the information meetings and workshops, the Ministry wanted to record these meetings. At their request, parts of these meetings were staged. We made sure that the recording was enticing, for example by introducing a number of well-known or engaging employees. This record became an edited version of a number of meetings, and included time for a question and answer session.
