Case 1 Appraisal system



Client request:
A renowned large insurance company was about to introduce a new appraisal system. Management was trained first, followed by middle management. We were asked to support this training with some experienced actors. They wanted to use intensive role play and good feedback to ensure that the managers would be better able to conduct critical appraisals. 

Approach:
We suggested spending significant amounts of time on practice situations in small groups, making use of the knowledge and experience of Special Expertise actors. These actors worked in small groups under the leadership of a Principal Trainer. Each participant received individual attention and intensive support and guidance. 

Result:
The new appraisal system was operational within 2 months, and the entire management was trained intensively with plenty of time for practice. Following the training with the actors, the Personnel Department of the insurance company received considerable praise from management, because the new system worked well and the managers were better able to appraise their employees.
